JENN HARMON

Serious looking at first glance, but really a comedian at heart with a contagious smile. Jenn has a background in business and personal training/corrective exercise making her a fierce asset to Edge on and off the podium. Jenn was introduced to rhythm-based cycle over four years ago and hasn’t looked back since. She has a strong passion for music and fitness. This combination allows her to deliver a zealous, yet intense class that will push you to your limits and have you leaving proud of the work that you put in. Plus, Jenn’s jokes throughout class will have you leaving with a smile on your face.

Why do you ride and climb?
For me, I love pushing myself to do something that I never thought I could do. Each time I clip in or step onto the tower I use it as an opportunity to push myself further than the last time. I literally take those intense moments just 15 seconds at a time!

Do you have kids or pets?
I have both! I am a proud mom to a 21-year-old son and an 18-year-old daughter. VERY excited to see what being an empty nester is like. I am also a very proud fur mom; I have two dogs, Hannah and Capone. I foster for Front Street Animal Shelter so you can even call me a foster mom! The girls in the studio refer to me as “Momma Jenn”, so you could say that I am a mom in MANY forms and I love every minute of it!

What type of music can we expect to hear in your class?
I have a pretty wide range. I was raised on R&B music so my heart truly is with the heavier beats. Old school remixes are a must and I always play the newest releases of EDM, Hip Hop and R&B. My favorite is when members sing along! If you have a favorite song, let me know and I will see what I can do!

What’s your favorite move on the bike and/or Power Tower?
For the Power Tower, I love when we squat and deadlift. Compound moments for strength training are essential for how our bodies move outside of the gym. For Cycle, I love moving it up and back for counts of two while moving to a HEAVY beat. Feeling the difference between the push and the pull makes me feel powerful!

Do you have a pre/post-class ritual?
Pre-class is listening to my music on the way to the studio. It helps get my mind ready for what’s to come! Post-class is chugging as much water as possible because I often forget to drink some during class. The BEST part is simply chatting with riders/climbers. Everyone comes out of the studio feeling so good that some of the best conversations are had after class!

What is your favorite thing to eat before or after class?
Before class I will usually have some toast with peanut butter on it and a piece of fruit. Berries are my favorite! After class, if it’s in the morning I will grab one, yes just one, gluten free pancake from Orphan Breakfast House. If it’s in the evening, you can often see me proudly walking over to Pieology for a pizza. I <3 Pizza!
